浙江大学建筑设计研究院始建于1953年，是国家重点高校中最早成立的甲级设计研究院之一。现执有国家建筑工程设计、消防设计、建筑装饰设计、建筑专业咨询、施工图审查、建筑智能化系统工程设计、工程勘察（岩土工程）和市政公用（风景园林、道路、桥隧、给水、排水、环卫）等八项甲级证书，公路行业（公路）乙级证书。业务范围有高层、超高层的大型办公、宾馆、商业综合体、行政办公楼；学校校园规划与设计；影剧院、图书馆、博物馆等文化建筑；居住区规划与设计；体育建筑；医院类建筑；城市设计；智能建筑设计、室内设计；风景园林与景观设计；市政公用工程；岩土工程；幕墙设计等。
坚持“营造和谐、争创精品、建立品牌、接轨国际、有序发展”的办院方针，2000年通过ISO9001质量体系认证。目前有五个综合设计所，三个专业设计所， 以及岩土工程、市政交通、风景园林、建筑装饰、建筑幕墙、宁波六个分院组成，并在温州设立了分支机构。全院有一级注册建筑师、一级注册结构工程师近百名。建院以来坚持繁荣建筑创作、重视设计质量准则，积极参加市场竞争，并广泛开展国际学术交流与工程联合设计，与美国的HOK、德国的GMP、澳大利亚的COX、PTW等国际知名的设计公司进行合作。在历届优秀建筑设计评选中有260余项获得国家、部、省级优秀设计奖、优质工程奖及科技成果奖，取得了较好的社会声誉和经济效益，得到社会各界和建设单位的赞扬和好评。
Architectural Design and Research Institute of Zhejiang University was founded in 1953.It is one of the first Grade-A design and research institutes founded by key universities of China. We have eight Grade-A certificates and licenses for architectural engineering design, fire protection design, architecture decoration design, architecture consultation, construction drawing examination, intelligence building system design, engineering reconnaissance (geotechnical engineering) and municipal infrastructure (landscape and garden, roads, bridges and tunnels, water supply, drainage and sanitation) and a Grade-B license for road engineering. Our designs cover high-rises, skyscrapers for business offices, hotels, commercial complexes and government offices; the planning and designing for school campus; cultural architectures such as theaters, libraries and museums; the planning and designing for residential areas; sports architectures; hospitals; city design; intelligent building design and interior design; landscape and garden design; municipal infrastructure; geotechnical engineering; and curtain wall design.
Following the business philosophy of “Build up Harmony, Produce Classic Works, Establish Brand, Gear into International Practice and Develop Orderly”, we passed ISO 9001 Quality System Certification in 2000. So far, we have had five comprehensive design institutes, three specialized design institutes and five divisions for geotechnical engineering, municipal infrastructure, landscape and garden, architecture decoration, and curtain walls respectively. We have set up branches in Ningbo and Wenzhou. There are about 100 Grade-A Certified Architects and Grade-A Certified Structure Engineers in our institute. Since the establishment of the Institute, we have actively participated in market competitions as well as international academic exchanges and project co-design based on the principle of prospering architecture design and emphasizing design quality. We have cooperated with a group of international famous design companies such as HOK form the U.S., GMP from the Germany, COX and PTW from Australia. We have won 260 plus national-, ministry- and provincial- level awards for outstanding design, high-quality engineering and technical achievements. We have gained a good reputation and financial benefits as well as the high remarks from our society and clients.
